Invitation to Red Madonna Sisterhood 2018-2020

Are you looking for a creative spiritual practice to ground your practice? Do you want to explore the sacred feminine and the mysteries of the Madonna, Magdalen, Christ, the Feminine
Tree of Life?

Sharing a few of the beautiful pieces for 2017's journey Cathedral of the Heart

A Message from Shiloh Sophia about the content
You will paint your TWO YEARLONG Red Madonna Painting as the Sacred Feminine that YOU personally are seeking on your sacred path – with your colors, symbols, designs, ideas, stories, codes, and patterns of possibility. It's important to know that your painting will be your own within YOUR connection to YOUR source. AND it's also important to know that our circle is cast in the name of Yeshua and the Blessed Mother. We are following this tradition because I am the one calling the circle and this is the tradition that I walk in.
We also very much work with the feminine Tree of Life, Kabbalah, Shekhinah, Holy Spirit, Sophia Wisdom, Magdalene, within the Judeo-Christian Mystical and Biblical traditions. Our view is fresh, sometimes dangerous to the establishment and always seeking the Divine Feminine in Her forms as She has appeared to us in different dimensions and lands over 500,000 years. We feel honored our 4 main teachers stand in different places and bring such power to the information shared in the Red Madonna Sisterhood.

If you are new to painting with Intentional Creativity you will find we work with everything, including our materials as if it is a ritual. We build altars even with our paints and glitter to make it all in the realm of the sacred. This also makes it much more fun!

Materials and Call Schedule

Red Madonna Sisterhood .::. The Delivery Basics
The course is delivered online in a private Ning classroom. We have posts near the new and full moon cycles, two per month. You will receive emails with updates and call reminders. You can go at your own pace, but we love it so much when women flow on the journey timeline with us in the real time that each of the teachers is living out the work.

Painting videos will be delivered online via video. Shiloh Sophia is your painting teacher, offering you guidance, inspiration, pattern, and flow during the videos. Your painting content is done at your own pace. There will be other Color of Woman Graduate teachers painting along with you this year so you can get an idea of other interpretive styles as well as share with many other amazing women artists. No painting experience is needed and you will have an art doctor for support if you need a boost of support in your painting process.

Here's what we're up to on - Our Two Yearlong Prayer, Painting, Poetry and Practice-based Sisterhood guided by LOVE and DEVOTION.

Dear One,

This Invitation comes with love and inquiry. Each year, for 7 years, we have called women to come together for a different kind of "church" for healing, remothering, and exploration of your own deep mysteries. We suggest getting a cup of tea, a journal and lighting a candle. Sit awhile in the makings of a mystery school in exploration...

Red Madonna January 1, 2018 - 2020 Wisdom’s Table : Year 7 of our sisterhood.

Prayer. Painting. Poetry. An experience using our Ancestor’s Stories and the mystical teachings of the Tree of Life to explore our relationship with the feminine mysteries. My work is rooted in the Madonna and women's relationship to the Messiah and exploring what we have been told and the stories we are telling now.

We are featuring 8+ women teachers from different spiritual traditions.  What does a relationship with ‘her’ mean for us as women? From Eve to  Sarah to Magdalen. From Shekinah to Ruach, to the Tree of Life to the Cosmos, Mother Wisdom has called us to the table.  I will be deeply exploring the Wisdom teachings from the scripture and what they mean for us today...

We follow the cycles of the moon and honor many feasts of the Judeo Christian traditions, yet women from all traditions are welcome to come to the table. The key is to feel drawn to this mythos either for study, exploration, healing, or simply because there is a call in your heart.  We will complete on the eve of 2020.

I am offering a unique experience of a commitment to a painting for two whole years. Completed paintings will be featured in a global show from our museum online (and perhaps in person) in 2020. We will begin with layered symbols, stories, and work abstract as we build a foundation for our painting to emerge. I will be demonstrating the steps you can take on the painting, yet it is entirely your own design. Following the foundation, we will move into sketching our images that we receive in visions and dreams for our canvas. Our canvas is metaphoric for the 'table' we come to in order to connect intuitively with our own wisdom through painting, meditation, and listening in deep devoted practice. From there, we will build a painting, as we have in past years ala Intentional Creativity, with Shiloh Sophia – spontaneous and free. Then as we move on in our process, we will work more with refined skills, hands, ears, fabric, lights and dimension. Those who choose can complete when they like or stay with us into the deeper skill domain. I know, it's scary for me too. But this cycle is calling for deep reflection and contemplation with tedium, care, and devotion. You can choose one large painting, or do a triptych of three smaller canvases.

A new feature of this longer experience is the chance to go deeper and develop your own set of teachings, or a credo or manifesto for your path. We will work to explore your essential wisdom and the shape it wants to take. The painting and poetry itself will be the access to this kind of thinking and articulation of your gifts.

The structure is in our online RED TENT – which this year will be a feast table of WISDOM. Classroom (Ning)+ Monthly Calls + One in person Gathering that is optional.
Signed along the red thread, Shiloh Sophia

Come on in,

is being tended right now!

Embody the sacred. Working with all of the elements in your painting process.

About my mama - I want to say what an honor it has been to teach with my mom these past 6 years in Red Madonna. I wouldn't have continued if not for her guidance and her powerful contribution of the word and poetry to this community AND to Intentional Creativity - which is based in image, word and inquiry. She is not only an incredible writer and teacher, but also such a gift in all she manages for Red Madonna - she is the one who holds the context for the whole thing and tells me when I am on it and when I have missed. She is my teacher and guide.

Our incredible mother daughter relationship has been so healing for all of us - and for those in the Red Madonna who are looking for remothering.

2018-2020 Guided by Maestra Shiloh Sophia

What wisdom do our female ancestors have for us? Let's come to the table...

Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars. She has prepared her feast, set out her wine and set her table. She has sent out her maidens who call out from the highest points of this city, "Whoever is naive/inexperienced/simple, let them turn in here....Come eat my bread." ~ Proverbs 9

I love this scripture for so many reasons – and I like the part about those coming to her who lack wisdom. I don't see this as a personal insult, but a call to appropriate action for these trying times.
Here's a video where I share more about what's happening in our two-year experience.

Our Teachers and What They are UP TO

Message from Maestra Shiloh Sophia - Our Teachers and guides in Red Madonna are quite special... one is my beautiful Mama Caron McCloud who will be focusing on poetry as a Sacred Path and teaching you how to make your own chapbook - as well as her love of the Kabbalah and Living the Tree of Life. The other women teachers are friends and sacred sisters and Color of Woman Graduates. Havi Mandell who has been with us for 5 years, she will be leading us in their way of working with the Feminine Tree of Life studies. Emily Grieves, who I have taught with for three years on the Virgin Guadalupe, will be guiding us with seeking Mary throughout the world. We are also grateful to be supported by Susan Daniel, our Hearth Tender for the past 4 years and she will share teachings with us this year. Nadya King is Co-Tending the Red Tent and Mary Ann Matthys has been our Gallery Curator for the past three years.  I feel very honored to walk a sacred path with these women of heart ((((((tears)))))). We are adding 3 potent teachers and I have studied with over the years, Dr. Kayleen Asbo, Christin Lore Weber and Rev. Wil Gafney - and feeling so blessed they will be bringing their teachings to Wisdom's Table.

Maestra Shiloh Sophia will be the guide for the yearlong painting process with color mixing, technique, gold leaf, liner work, bold strokes, and writing in paint. Although this class is not ABOUT learning to paint - we work with intuitive painting and intentional creativity to access our information which flows into the painting. In year two, we go in depth and will have other painting teachers. This is subject to change, we just wanted to give you an idea of what is likely to happen!

Caron McCloud is a writer, artist, designer, teacher, and entrepreneur. She is an award winning performing poet, and the poetry teacher for Leading a Legendary Life, Color of Woman, and Red Madonna. She has over a dozen chap books to her credit, and a book, Rachel’s Bag, In Search of the Qabalah of Our Mothers, (illustrated by her daughter, Shiloh McCloud), which examines the radical actions of Old Testament women. She is currently in the editing process for her collection of poetry, Neon-Cuneiform, and completing a book on Qabalah, Living the Tree of Life.

Shiloh Sophia lives life as a great adventure! For 25 years she has dedicated herself to art as a tool for transformation. Through paintings, poetry and teachings she reaches thousands throughout the world providing encouragement for the journey. She is the leader of a revolutionary education movement focused in Intentional Creativity; as offered in the Color of Woman Teacher Training. In collaboration with her husband Jonathan, she runs the Cosmic Cowgirls Ranch with a gallery, classroom, farm, vineyard and lodge in California. She can be found most mornings having tea with her Muse and kitties, Frida and Diego.

Christin Lore Webber: I'm a writer and observer of beauty in nature and people, a singer of praise and a dreamer who stares into both light and darkness hoping to see someday the Face of God.My journey has led from the northern lakes, to a convent on the prairie, to lifelong education including a doctorate in ministry, to a vocation of midwifery of souls, to this place, Casa Chiara, where the light shines and John Sack and I join our lives, care for nature, pray and contemplate, study and write.

Emily Grieves received a BFA degree in art from the University of Montana in 1993, followed by study of art history in Berlin, Germany, as a Fulbright scholar. She lived in San Francisco, California, for 10 years where she began exploring symbolism, mythology, and ritual in her artwork, drawing inspiration from the celebrations and mysteries of life. As of 2004, she makes her home in Teotihuacan, Mexico, where she has painted murals at the Dreaming House spiritual retreat center and has created a body of artwork influenced by the cosmological imagery left in the ancient pyramids and by her relationship with her Muse and the Divine Feminine. Our Wonderful Support Staff

Flamingo Gypsy/Susan Daniel, our Hearth Tender in the Red Tent. I have a real gypsy wagon. I am a Labyrinth Keeper for a labyrinth on our church floor in Gulf Shores, AL that is like the one in Chartres Cathedral in France. I started meditating when I was about 16 ~ so by my birthday January 30, 2014 I had been meditating for nigh onto 47 years. I am even in a ‘Meditation and Margaritas’ group (which could read ‘Meditation THEN Margaritas’.) Sometimes I am the only sweet tea drinking lady there. How did I come to be Heart and Hearth Keeper? In fact, this came to me in response to a goal I wrote for myself: ‘I am a successful Flamingo Gypsy, traveling around the world, honoring and tending to people’s creative fires, spirits, and souls.’

Mary Ann Matthys, M.A. is our Gallery Tender.  I am an Artist, Intentional Creativity Coach, Certified Color of Woman Teacher, Spiritual Director, and Retreat Facilitator who utilizes the creative process as an invitation to deeper communion and connection with the Divine. In the core of my being, I am a person who seeks to live into her faith day-by-day, moment-by-moment. I am a creative individual who finds the creative process a wonderful way to consecrate my life to my Sacred Source.
